Treatment Modalities

Brainspotting (BSP)

Discovered in 2003 by David Grand, Ph.D. while using EMDR. Brainspotting locates points in the visual field that help to access unprocessed trauma in the subcortical emotional and body-based parts of the brain while listening to bilateral sound.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

Developed in 1987 by Dr. Francine Shapiro. This treatment uses bilateral stimulation (back and forth movement) by eye movement, hand tapping, or audio sounds while thinking about an emotionally disturbing situation. This allows the brain to process the event while eliminating emotional distress and gaining new cognitive insights.

Person Centered Therapy

Developed in the 1940's by Carl Rogers. This treatment is a non-directive form of psychotherapy which emphasizes the client's ability to explore their own experiences, find their own solutions, and achieve self-discovery and personal growth within a supportive, non-judgmental relationship with the therapist
